FireMon | The control plane for network security policy
Join network security architects, practitioners, and leaders at the FireMon User Summit on Tuesday, October 20, at Taste 222 in Chicago.
This is a working session built around the challenges you’re dealing with every day: simplifying firewall operations, getting better control of your policies, and making sure your Zero Trust strategy works as intended. You’ll hear directly from other FireMon customers, the engineers and product leaders building the platform, and FireMon CEO Jody Brazil on where network security policy is headed next. No marketing pitch. Just practical conversations, real-world experiences, and ideas you can take back to your team.

Get a look at what’s coming on the product roadmap, including where AI can actually help with policy decisions and where it still needs a human in the loop. Bring your toughest questions to an open AMA with FireMon’s technical leadership, dig into real use cases and customer experiences, and see how others are approaching the same challenges you’re facing.
Come ready to compare notes, ask questions, and leave with something you can put to work the next morning.
You’ll leave with practical strategies to:
- Tackle Real-World Challenges
- Control firewall rule sprawl at scale, without breaking production.
- Keep policy consistent across on-prem, cloud, and segmentation
- Speed up policy changes without increasing risk
- Know what access exists, and what to fix first
- Maintain compliance without relying on audits
Learn Through:
- Live environments and real-word examples direct from FireMon customers
- Real operator workflows, step by step implementations
- Customer led-sessions with measurable outcomes
- Technical Product Roadmaps and expert interactions
- Integration deep dives, including Illumio, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco and ITSMs
You'll also earn CPE credits for your participation and take your professional development further. The full agenda and speakers will be announced soon.

Policy Is the Control Plane: Defining the Future of Network Security
Speaker: Jody Brazil, CEO, FireMon
Network security has never been more powerful, or more complex. As enterprises expand across cloud, hybrid, and Zero Trust architectures, security operations have become increasingly distributed. Application teams are making infrastructure decisions, security teams are enforcing policy across more environments than ever, and AI is accelerating the pace of change.
In this opening remarks, FireMon CEO Jody Brazil explores the current state of policy management through insights gathered across global enterprise environments and examines where network security is headed next. As organizations work to move faster without sacrificing control, traditional approaches are reaching their limits. The future requires policy management that is context-aware, adaptive, and capable of operating at machine speed.

From Chaos to Control: 3 FireMon Plays Every Customer Should Run
Speaker: Rick Rodriguez, Senior Sales Engineer, FireMon
The biggest challenge in policy management is not a lack of data. It is knowing which questions to ask, which risks to act on, and how to keep access from quietly becoming long-term exposure.
The biggest challenge in policy management is not a lack of data. It is knowing which questions to ask, which risks to act on, and how to keep access from quietly becoming long-term exposure.
In this interactive session, Rick Rodriguez will share three practical FireMon plays every customer should be running to improve policy governance, reduce operational complexity, and make better risk decisions. The session will cover how to use Insights, SiQL, and AI to ask better questions of the environment, how to clean up policies with confidence, and how to recertify access before outdated rules become forgotten risk.
Through practical walkthroughs, real-world examples, and audience-driven discussion, attendees will see how FireMon can help turn policy data into action across security, network, and operations teams.
Attendees will learn:
- How to use Insights, SiQL, and AI to answer the questions that matter most
- Proven methods for identifying and reducing unused, redundant, and risky access
- Why rule recertification is essential for long-term policy hygiene and audit readiness
- How to make every rule prove it still has a valid business reason
- Practical ways to improve policy governance, reduce complexity, and strengthen operational control
Session 4 | 1:20 PM -1:35 PM
Me Anything (AMA): FireMon Technical Experts Q&A
Speakers: FireMon Technical Leadership Team

Session 5 | 2:00 PM-2:30 PM
Session 5 | 2:00 PM-2:30 PM
The Agentic AI Platform in Action: Network Designer, Policy Change Designer and SiQL Executor
Session 6 | 2:30 PM-2:50 PM
Session 7 | 2:50 PM-3:35 PM
Speakers: Product Management, FireMon
FireMon's new Agentic AI Platform puts AI agents to work directly inside the policy platform your team already runs, not a separate tool bolted on the side, built into Security Manager and Policy Planner with the same access to FireMon's 25 years of policy data and context your team has always had.
This session walks through the three agents shipping today: Network Designer, which analyzes a firewall access request and recommends the policy changes to satisfy it; Policy Change Designer, which takes a request all the way to a reviewable change plan without you driving every step; and SiQL Executor, which turns a plain-language question into a working SiQL query. You'll see a live example, from an HTTPS access request to a finished change plan ready for review, and learn what the agents can do on their own, where they pause for a decision only a person can make, and why they never save a change without your review.
We'll also cover how to adapt the pre-configured agents to your environment, scope what each one can touch by device group, and where a build-your-own-agent option fits if the defaults don't cover your use case.

- How an agent takes a request from access request to reviewable change plan without step-by-step direction.
- Where a practitioner still has to review and approve, and why the agents don't save changes on their own.
- How to scope an agent's access to specific device groups, or adapt and build your own.
- Where AI helps with policy decisions today, and where it still needs a human in the loop.
Policy Control Plane in Action for Microsegmentation: FireMon + Illumio
Speakers: Dan Rheault, FireMon, Director of Product Management + Illumio
As hybrid environments evolve, maintaining consistent policy control across firewalls and workload segmentation becomes increasingly complex.
In this "Show me don't Tell Me" live session, you will see how Illumio's workload-level microsegmentation and FireMon's comprehensive security policy governance work together in a unified view. The combined solution helps teams validate access, identify policy inconsistencies, and reduce exposure across hybrid environments.

Rapid Fire: FireMon innovations and Roadmap
Speaker: Dan Rheault, FireMon, Director of Product Management
Security teams don’t have a control problem, they have a consistency problem. As firewalls, cloud-native controls, and Zero Trust segmentation evolve independently, maintaining consistent policy enforcement across them has become the real challenge -- leading to drift, gaps, and blind spots.
In this session, we’ll show how FireMon is evolving from network security policy management into a control plane for hybrid access governance. You’ll see how policy can be normalized and validated across environments, how AI is applied to improve real policy decisions, and how teams can maintain consistent access control as architectures become more distributed.
